I came across the work of Genevieve de la Reux quite by accident on my Facebook feed.
I had never heard of her before, but when I read the post that talked of her work rescuing children in Kenya that had been raped and abused, I took notice.
The rape and abuse of children goes against every fibre of my being and moral values. Children need to be nurtured and valued to thrive. The abuse and rape of children in any culture is abhorrent and pure evil.
I simply could not ignore what I was seeing. To do nothing is to accept it. As the parliamentarian Edmund Burke said “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”. For a while I tried to ignore and push down my conscience and ignore the pictures and stories. But my conscience prevailed. I just had to help with a monthly donation as a corporate sponsor. Now, I am a long term major donor, and I implore you to become one too. The truth is, we need more businesses to support the work of this remarkable young lady who has given up everything she has to support the work she does rescuing and rehabilitating children. Please, will you join with partners like me and support this great work? Andrew Bond
